1970 Challenger R/T

that U code looks great! there is a green survivor around here in Chicago (6 pak auto), looks like one of the 2 green ones in that pic.
I knew they were rare, did not know how rare until now.

In fact, my friend helps the manufacturer with color schemes and options, so he was responsible for it. I've emailed him to ask him so that you can find the actual diecast and not just something a hobbyist created. I'll post again when I find out more.

Thanks black69. Yes...the 70s are somewhat rare. Those green R/T's look great. Hey...I'm from Chicago too....born and raised. Left there when I retired in 2001. Growing up I lived at Jefferson Park and went to Steinmetz HS. Went into the Air Force and stationed in Thailand during Vietnam. Got out and lived in Schiller Park right on River Rd....right down the road from MCACN. Then we moved to the western suburbs....Streamwood and Bartlett. We'll be in and enjoying the pizza and beef sandwiches in 2 days. Really miss the Chicago food.

CAJ, my friend just responded that the company with whom he consults doesn't have the rights to the Challenger mold, so the Charger is the only one in that combo - sorry!

Hi 442w30.....I really want to thank you for checking with him. I'm still hoping that one day I'll hear from the builder of that model. Hopefully he'll be willing to part with it or possibly make another one for me.

I am 99.99% sure that survivor in Chicago is my friends old car. Sold new in Ontario.
It is the one in my pic with the black stripe.
My friend unfortunately died while he had the car at Roger Gibson's getting cleaned up.....I helped Roger get the paperwork so he could sell the car for my friends mother. I remember the buyer was from Chicago.

There were only so many 70 RT/SE's with shakers.....can't remember the actual number right now but total 70 Challenger Shaker production was around 184 cars........need to find my info on RT/SE with N96 option.

Early in the '70 model year the SHAKER was:
STANDARD on HEMI'Cuda
OPTIONAL on 440+6 'Cuda &amp; HEMI &amp; 440+6 Challenger R/T

Spring of the '70 model year the SHAKER was:
STANDARD on HEMI'Cuda
OPTIONAL on other engine 'Cuda &amp; all engine Challenger R/T


I've seen the following numbers (accuracy??)
1970 production figures w/N96 (US spec. cars):
BS23R0B - 652
BS27R0B - 14
BS23_0(B/E) - 717 (non-HEMI)
BS27_0(B/E) - 8 (non-HEMI)
JS23_0(B/E) - 164
JS27_0(B/E) - 5
JS29_0(B/E) - 15

Yes - I remember that number now......15 JS29's (RT/SE) got a shaker.....15 spread among the 440-4, 440-6 and the Hemi....383? Not sure if that was in the mix..............Not too many!!
I'll end up with that car again......but I will have to give him a car I don't want to give him...Lol!

It was a customer ordered car....not a dealer ordered car. I honestly believe that he liked the way the Jaguars looked in that color scheme and did the same thing. It is very unusual but striking. My wife loves it and she thinks the word to describe it is elegant.
I hope you end up with the Challenger again. It shouldn't be hard at all to track it down now.
