I, too, worked at a Sunoco The summer of '78. I was 17. It was a magical time. Pumped a lot of 260 as well. I also worked at a Firestone tire store that same summer. I would work the day at F-stone, then go and work the evening shift and close the Sunoco station. Changed a lot of those radial 500s that separated and the steel came out. The proceeds of that summer went to a kick butt home stereo and my first V8 car- 1967 SS396 Chevelle 4speed. Marina blue with blue bucket interior, Cragar s all around. I absolutely loved that car. Had some great times in it. My folks were so peed off. They sent me to a Military school

If one particular blonde female came in for gas the owner would push us gas jockeys aside and he would smirk at us as he washed her window:-)

Couple of years after working at Carlingwood Sunoco I worked at Bayshore Shell and when needing gas for my '69 340 Swinger I'd drive over next door to Bayshore Sunoco, still in my Shell uniform, and fill her up with 260!I think 240 had the same octane as every other station's high test and then 250 and 260 was the highest.Anyone remember what 260's octane number was?

Thank you for the compliment. It was an easy way to add artwork to the wall and honor my grandfather at the same time.
