As that car was being driven in from the delivery area, there was a crowd of people following it into the Vintage area and once it was parked, I couldn't see the car for the next hour, as it was absolutely hidden from view by bodies. One of the judges said it was "The Belle of the Ball" and it attracted crowds of people all day. It truly is amazing the condition it was maintained in and so clean underneath.
Congratulations to Doug for his new treasure.

Very cool Paul... it appears to have been built just a couple of days before mine. I would bet on Wednesday, February 26. Before lunchtime.

Amazing car. I know it got docked for the missing jacking instruction sticker but per Doug the orig. owner took it off himself as it was crooked or something.

That's a car I'd be poking back every hour on the hour to weed through the fans. Not picking, just correct my eyes if I'm seeing things, but the heater nipple at the water pump appears to be painted orange???

The car achieving Time Capsule, speaks for itself. There was a lot of anticipation, and this car did not disappoint. The crowd around the car never diminished and was enjoyed by all!!!

Congratulations to the original owner /caretaker and to Doug for sharing the car and participating in our intense Vintage Certification program.

this was a treat to see in person. I wish I could have seen the top side. Unbelievable car. Lucky owner. Noticed only a few differences to my car that is similar (curved neck 4 core vs not, scratching head on that) and did they write 'BLK' on the firewall (I did not get to see that). Red stripes were the same with distinct details. Car is an art piece.

If all the discussion is true on air temps impacting curing of paint, my car would have been bumping up against late June/4th of July temps which would have been quite different to this car. Mine is definitely not that dull and was a shock to see. I am sure mine was polished by hand. Temped to take some wax stripper to it now and see what happens.

I was honoured to be part of this judging team. They let me do the recording stuff like body, window, seatbelt codes, rims tires and the like.
At one point on Friday there were 19 people underneath that car, looking, taking photos etc….we were ready to call the fire Marshall.
