I grew up in the Twin Cities-most cars didn’t survive this well.

Wow, didn't know you were from TC, Tom. Lived here all my life in northern suburbs.
I may know this car. It was owned/driven by a young man who would occasionally pick up small parts for his family's excavation business at the company I worked for in Brooklyn Center.

I know the Northern suburbs well. Born and raised in Mounds View, MN and moved to Seattle when I got married in ‘93. Was going to do a couple years out here…and that was 30 years ago, lol. Absolutely blew my mind when I got to Seattle and found people still driving rock solid 60’s cars as their daily drivers. I just couldn’t go back to subzero temps and rusty cars.

Looks like Malmon Lincoln Mercury in St. Paul. $11k in ‘72! My Dad bought his first new car in ‘72, a Pontiac LeMans GT for $3500. All the money in the world to my 21 year old parents of a toddler. A rare impulse buy by my father without consulting his bride. He would not make that mistake again, and thus they would remain married until she passed 40 years later.

I grew up in Lino Lakes, just barely. Co Rd J was a block south of our house. I've been thru Mounds View hundreds of times, but you're quite a bit younger than me. By '93 I had been married for 10 years, then single for 10 and just a year into my current 30+ year relationship/marriage. I don't blame you for staying away from the cold, we have 5" of fresh snow and it's still falling...

I do think the Yellow car I saw at the business did come from the Hwy 12 dealer. I don't recall hearing/seeing anything about St Paul from the owner.

$200 for dealer prep in 1973???? That may have included things we're not allowed to discuss on a family-friendly site like this

I'm with you, Tom, no more sub-zero temps and rusty cars for me either.....56 years of that was more than enough.
