Default MCACN Schedule of Activities for 2022

Been hammering out the final details! Going to be an incredible show with over 550 cars, all of the automotive vendor spots are sold out and we have so much going on, non stop all weekend.

Here is the general Schedule of Events for Both Days:

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
SHOW HOURS SATURDAY: 9 AM – 8 PM, SUNDAY 9 AM – 5 PM

9:15 Saturday: Kick-off Special Presentation: This year we will be doing something a bit different; “Unveiling” an Unrestored car! Why? Because the original owner had this very real and very original 1970 Hemi ‘cuda convertible stashed for over 46 years and it has never left Texas until now! Right up front in one of our “Hot Spots”.

9:30 – 12:45 PM Saturday: PREMIER UNVEILINGS; Taking place every 10-15 minutes nonstop: The exact order of the Unveilings tba. Locations vary in Red Zone 1, Blue Zone 2 and Yellow Zone 3; look for the Premier Unveiling flags.

MEET COURTNEY HANSON; Courtney Hansen returns and will be with us all weekend. Known for working with Chip Foose and the Overhaulin’ team and her brand new show, ROYL Garage, she will be joining us in the morning for our Premier Unveilings and then signing autographs. Saturday and Sunday, Exact times and locations TBA.

MEET CHUCK CANTWELL of Shelby Automotive. If you saw the movie, you know who he is! Chuck is largely responsible for the creation of the Shelby GT350, various race activities and so much more. He will be with us Saturday and Sunday in the 1965 Shelby GT350 Pre-Production Invitational display along with SIX of these incredible cars.

MEET THE LEGENDS of Super Stock and see their cars; We are honored to have Arnie “The Farmer” Beswick, John Troxell, Paul Rossi, Larry Griffith, Tom and Jim Tignanelli, members of the Motown Missile team and others who will be joining us all weekend. They will be signing autographs Saturday from 2 pm – 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm and Sunday from 1:00-3:00 pm in the Legends of Super Stock Invitational display. They will also be participating in a Panel Discussion Saturday at 2:00 and Sunday at 11:00 am, Hosted by Geoff Stunkard. Located In the Awards/Ballroom area. Arnie Beswick, John Troxell, the Tignanelli brothers will have their cars in the ”big” room along with over a dozen others.

MEET WAYNE CARINI, STAR OF CHASING CLASSIC CARS: Wayne will be with us both days in the Car Capsule display. Meet Wayne and get an autograph and picture! Saturday and Sunday, ALL DAY.

MEET CHERIELYNN WESTRICH: CherieLynn’s resume includes being a member of the “A Team” on Overhaulin,’ being a Iowa State Rep and she is the owner of Malwood. Meet her in the Malwood booth right up front next to the MCACN merch area Saturday and Sunday.

Kids FREE Scavenger Hunt and other Kids activities; All Day. Kids 14 and under can check in at the Information booth up front to pick up your scavenger hunt card and backpack. Hot Wheels Races, Model Car Make and Take, MCACN Kids Club Youth Judging, Coloring contest, all FREE for the kiddos! Hands-on Activities take place in our Kids Zone in the Orange Zone 4 center hall, to the right of Muscle Bicycle display.

MCACN KIDS CLUB Youth Judging, *NEW* Check in at the Information booth in Red Zone 1. Kids get a “hands-on” guided tour, meet some awesome owners and learn how to actually Judge FOUR select cars. The kids will present FOUR special awards to the cars they like best. This is a FREE activity, and all participants will receive a cool Limited Edition MCACN Kids Club Judges shirt and an awesome back-pack filled with cool stuff. Saturday only 2:00.

SEMINARS AND PANEL DISCUSSIONS; open to all spectators and participants. Located on the Awards Stage in the Ballroom, far right side of the “big” room near Yellow Zone 3.

Corvette Today; What is Happening in the World of Corvette; An Introduction to the #1 Corvette Podcast, Hosted by Steve Garrett. CORVETTE TODAY is in its 3rd year of existence! Steve will cover news & headlines specifically for enthusiasts to keep you up-to-date on what’s happening in the world of Corvette. Interesting interviews are Steve’s specialty. He will also talk about his history of being a radio disc jockey in Kansas City for 45 years, then do a Q&A session to talk Corvette. Saturday at 1:00 pm

The Legends of Super Stock Panel Discussion, Part I & II, Hosted by Geoff Stunkard. Here is your chance to hear the stories directly from members of the Mopar Missile team, Arnie “The Farmer” Beswick, John Troxell, Paul Rossi, Tom and Jim Tignanelli, Jim Kramer, Larry Griffith and others. These guys really know how to tell stories, and this is going to be a whole lot of fun. With the focus on the 67-68 seasons, there is nothing better than hearing who beat who, how they did it and recollections of some incredible memories. This is the real deal and a rare opportunity that we are truly honored to present. Saturday at 2:00 pm and Part II Sunday at 11:00 am.

The GMMG Legends, Hosted by Matt Avery: This talk will give guests the inside track behind the creation of these radical Camaros. Avery will present a new seminar entitled ‘Berger’s Supercar: The Dick Harrell Edition Camaro’. This exceptionally fun and educational lecture dives deep into the events leading up to this landmark Camaro program, spotlights the key players who made it all happen and thoroughly details the performance and cosmetic contents that were added to make these renown vehicles so legendary. Saturday at 3:30 pm.

Meet the Future, Hosted by John Kraman of Mecum Auctions: Yes, there really is a future for our hobby. These younger enthusiasts, ranging in age from 13-25 share their stories. A 13-year-old car owner and Junior Dragster driver, several young and very active racers, a 14-year-old automotive photographer, a very bold 18 year old car builder and several young ladies that race in the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag series and aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty share their passion and tell us how we can help keep the hobby alive. Saturday at 4:30 pm and Sunday at Noon.

Special Thanks go out to our Presentation Hosts Geoff Stunkard, John Kraman, Matt Avery, Steve Garrett and Jim Kramer along with all of the participants.

LIVE MUSIC:

6:00 – 8:00 Saturday: See John Kraman and REDLINE 7000 perform your favorite songs from the 60’s- 90’s. Join us for some High- Performance Rock and Roll to get revved up! On the Awards Stage in the Ballroom on the far side of the “big” room near Yellow Zone 3.

1:15 – 2:30 pm Sunday: Join us to hear singer/songwriter Carmel Liburdi who joins us from Detroit with her unique and quirky style. Carmel is just plain fun and you’ll love her unique style.

Walkaround Presentation:

The 1970 “KING KONG” Hemi ’cuda convertible Walk Around. Ever wonder how someone manages to convince an original owner of 46+ years to part with his beloved Hemi ‘cuda convertible? Meet the new owner, Darryl Wischnewski, who will talk about the car and tell the story of how he was able to become the new caretaker. Saturday right after the final Premier Unveiling, 1:00 pm up front near the main entrance.

Show Closes at 8:00 pm Saturday and 5:00 pm Sunday.

Any chance there is a video of the hemi cuda walk around? I would love to see and hear the story!

Man, I wish we would have done that! Darryl is a very interesting guy and I heard his talk was really neat.

If anyone shot video of him, I'd love to see it!
