Just my opinion but it was a shame that they would never let him into the baseball hall of fame. With all the craziness going on in our world today and especially in sports and they would never forgive him. One of the greatest and toughest baseball players of all time!!

A sad day for major league baseball today as one of the greatest players to ever play the game has passed away. Pete Rose, who still holds the record for most hits by any player has passed and has still not been inducted into the hall of fame. Anyone who is a fan of baseball knows that Pete Rose belongs in the HOF in Cooperstown!!! The HOF is for the very best players that played the game regardless of what they did after their playing days were over. No one ever played the game harder or with more passion than Pete Rose did and the man deserves to be in the Hall of Fame because he was one of the greatest players to ever play the game!!! Gods speed Pete....maybe some day the powers that be will come to their senses and induct you to the hall where you belong!!!

I'm a huge Pete Rose fan growing up 2 hrs north of Cincinnati, they were THE team in our area. I was around 10-12 years old when the Big Red Machine was in full swing, they were talented across the entire roster.
I used to pay attention to all the drama around his betting, decades of denial before finally admitting it. That part of Rose does not make me a fan of his personality, but somebody got all those hits. I know there was proof he bet on the Reds while he was with them, does anyone know if there is proof that he ever bet against the team he was playing for or managing? I get the "rule" of no betting on baseball, but the entire intention is to prevent you from "throwing a game". Any proof Rose ever did that? He should be in the HOF.
