Texas uses its own electric grid -- ERCOT -- separate from the two others used by the rest of the U.S.

Virginia has had 3 capital cities: Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Richmond. And Richmond was also the capital of the Confederate States during the Civil War.

West Virginia was the first state to have a sales tax. It was 0.4% and went into effect in 1921.
