That was a really good showing of all the tools they had available. A lot of those are still used though modernized a little. At least they were when I was doing it on-call and volunteer. They probably use lasers to cut people out now for all I know lol

Very much of the same techniques used today. Air bags are now used a lot more to stabilize a vehicle as well as adjustable rescue struts. The difference is today we have a lot of electric cars and those have to be dealt with completely different or you are a dead first responder in an instant.

Yup, also non-deployed air bags/actuators to be aware of.

On a good note, in the 27 years I've been on, decreased fatalities and serious injuries,my city anyway, due to safer automobile construction.Thank an engineer, lol.

Of course more accidents due to distractions,,,cell phones??

Car crashes are at an all time high. I blame most of it on texting and driving. People are also ignorant drivers more now than ever. I can't tell you how many times a day I am tailgated by someone. That is one thing I just don't understand. The minute you whack someone from behind not only are you negligent in the crash but you know your going to be sued.

Another thing that irritates me is people have NO idea what to do at stop signs any more. They sit there and play the "waive game" or flash their headlights for the other driver, who does not have the right of way at the stop sign, to go. Or the other one I love is when a driver just completely stops in the middle of the roadway for absolutely no reason to let someone out of a private drive or intersection.

Well said Rich, I hate the waive game, what I do is sit back , cross my arms and wait them out. And what's up with running red lights
