Default 71 W30 convt, Preservation/Restoration

This is a first for us. What started out as a possible repaint of a survivor 71 4spd W30 Convertible (It was partially repainted already) turned into a hybrid Restoration/Preservation project. The body was totally repainted, but the floors and the paint on them is completely original, it's a 34K mile car that was undercoated. We also did not rebuild the drive train as runs great, also the interior is mostly original. My hope is a car that looks like a full restoration that keeps the feel of a survivor. I will post more photos when it is done.

I’ll say!

This process is amazing.
I’d love to have this done to both of my Survivors.

Thank you for sharing.

What is being restored vs preserved? I can see the engine is being restored and the floors are preserved but what else is?

The guys had a couple of days into it at first, but when we decided to take it off the frame, we probably spent another day or so getting the areas that were unseen before. So maybe 30 hrs.

The floor pan is original and I love how it looks and it would be hard to duplicate.
Almost all of the interior is original still, the top was replaced, but the well liner was retained along with the rear glass. The build and functionality of the drive train is original, trunk compartment etc.
