Default 1969 Camaro Fan Clutch Date Question

I am replacing my original fan clutch with another and copying the ink stamps to the new one and can't figure out what the first letter or number is in the date code. My fan is a 3947772 dated H-68 the clutch has a Julian date number 221 which is Aug. 8th of 1968. What is the first letter or number in the date as seen in the enclosed picture? I would think it would be an 8 for the year but you can see clearly, it's not an 8. Any experts have an idea?

I think that date is G22I which would be Jul 22, 1968 (I). (J) is for 1969 dates, it's not a julian date.
