Sad. 74 is too soon.

This is my favorite Tony Christian photo. He's camped out on the starting line watching the "little guys" run.

I think that says a lot. The NMCA/NSCA was a pretty tight family.

Default Beech Bend

I remember him racing a white corvette in M/P at Beech Bend NHRA Div. 3. An old school racer. May he RIP.

Thanks for the heads up, but this article explains a lot more about him.

Scored a set of headers and other stuff from Tony at Grand back in the day - a classic even then!

I believe the '57 (known as the "Evil Twin") was owned by Stan Shaw, and Tony was the hired gun.

Think so, too. He was driving the white 'Vette when I was customer. How does the racecar driver get to the racecar (& what's racecar spelled backwards?) ...? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZWmjaDjRfU

I remember seeing Tony at Route 66 with the "Evil Twin". He met up with Bob Rieger who was one of the first guys to run twin turbos in the Pro Street class. Bob had been running faster than Tony all day and I believe he was the number one qualifier. Anyway, Tony double bulbed him and the lights came down before Bob could get his car spooled up. Tony didn't always have the fastest car, but he had more tricks up his sleeve than anybody else.
