Ryan, I don't remember seeing the mileage on this one, but my original cats on my 6.0 made it to about 230,000 miles.

On the 7,000 gvw trailer, ask if You can get it with load range D tires. They usually come with C's and they barely meet the gvw at 1,750 lbs load rating each. I run load range D on my 7k trailer at 2,200 lbs capacity. This gives you some leeway on weight and a cooler running tire. When loaded with a 3,600 lb car they are more stable against side wind and sway than the C's too.

20' with a wedge is just fine unless you're hauling Impala's or bigger. Stated you have a budget, but get it right and you have a trailer for life. Good luck with whatever you do!!- Bill W |

One day I want to add a stainless exhaust with high flow cats and just a little bit more rumble but not very much. Ryan W

I have to make a correction to what I said. I had my travel trailer in mind with the load range D tires. I do run E's on my car hauler 205/75x15 radials with 2,800 lb capacity and 80 mph rating. I have never run that fast with my 5.3. I would need a 100 gallon auxiliary tank in the bed to keep that up for long.
The 5,400 lb axles puts him back in the 10.k gvw category, which then requires a heavier frame, etc. I do have a question...is the 20' plus the 3' wedge ? Also, an escape door would be a very worthwhile upgrade if ordering.

I appreciate the feedback!!! I think the best case scenario is to find a 2-4 year old 9900 lb GVWR trailer. (This would likely be a 24’ as they are much more common. 20’ is the cube, the V is in addition Escape door is great but I am stretching to buy a trailer and need to keep this as low cost as possible. Ryan, I know your on a budget, but I would get everything you want on the trailer. that way you only buy the trailer one time instead of twice.
if I would have got the wide body and escape door the first time. I wouldn't have bought the second trailer.

I have looked at a few more trailers.
I am torn between a 10 year old 24 X 8.5 X 7 9900 with new E rated tires, made out of plywood and a 2 year old 20 X 8.5 X 6.5 made out of OSB. Older is less expensive but a little big for what I need. Thinking currently. Ryan W31
