I have yet to get to Newfoundland but Des Ryan and Paul Martin would make good tour guides when we do hit the rock.
PS: there is a documentary of the unparalleled welcoming of all the people flying in the area during 911. (That is how we see the relationship between USA and Canada)

I'm reading the book right now, "The Day The World Came To Town". It's the great story of how the people of Gander, NL and the surrounding communities open per their arms and their homes to the 10,000 passengers that were forced to the ground by the US closed air space on 9/11.
It's an awesome story of the selfless residents of Gander, Newfoundland.
Also, the Newfie's are a fun bunch, I've been Screeched and am now an honorary resident.
