Is this for a factory Hurst shifter or for an aftermarket hurst (larger rod ends) shifter Geoff? if its for smaller diameter factory rods i will take it

I know it works for the hurst competition plus shifter, but unsure if it will work for factory shifter..

yes, unfortunately the HURST CP+ unit assembly-line installed on the 1969 Z28 did not have the same beefy rods as the aftermarket speed shop versions - so the Hurst pit packs are a bit of a gamble as to what they are intended for. I do need a pit pack, but for factory rods.
