Default Front lower oval control arm bushing

When did the oval front lower control arm bushing come into play. Picked up a used set of control arms and noticed the lowers have oval bushing was there a year this started or maybe from a specific factory. Thanks

The 1970 Chevelles I have observed over the years are: SS are round and Malibu is oval. I think the extra rubber in the oval bushing would give a softer ride.

I thought it was the other way around. 442's had the oval bushing and regular cutlass the round ones. I have bought NOS control arms specific to the 442 and they had oval, cross referencing the pt# to GTO and Chevelle SS shows the oval bushing. I think the change occurred in 1970.

I'm with him. My experience is 95% 1970 Chevelles. If I was looking at a '70 SS and it had oval bushings I would be very skeptical about the rest of the car IMO. I can't speak for Buick, Olds and Pontiac.

All of the F41 70 Chevelles I have seen are round. My first car was a 70 malibu, it also had round - we had to change them. I dont know the build date of my old car off hand.
