 On June 2, 1990 the SR-71 Blackbird made it's final flight for the US Military. And being the SR-71, it did it in style by setting the LA to Washington DC speed record of 1 hour, 4 minutes and 20 seconds. The average speed of the flight was 2,145 mph.
