Default 1969 Dick Harrell Camaro

This car is locally located and might be of interest to some of the people that frequent the site. Nope, not my car.

"This car was one of 10 by Dick Harrell with the full Phase III treatment. 2 made in this color. It had a special grind cam that Dick Harrell came up with. The Stinger hood. The wheels were called "Stripped" by Dick Harrell by Kelsey Hayes in Detroit. Only these cars had these wheels. Accel Ign & wires. Sun tach. Stewart Warner gauges under the dash. Dick Harrell Badging on the hood and rear deck, valve covers. This car is correct down to the tires. This car was put on the rotisserie and owned and restored by Dick Harrell's best friend and right hand man Rick Lenane. Rick worked at Dick Harrell's place and was a member of the Drag team."

Asking $160K. Has an affidavit from Rick Lenane.
Contact is Ken at [email protected]. (734)547-6200

This car has been discussed here and other sites a few times. There is no proof that it is a Harrell car. It was listed for sale on this site 3 or 4 times a few years ago. Every time it was listed the story was different. Below is a link to the last time is was discussed here.

Really? What is different between the original ad, https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/show...fpart/all/vc/1, and this ad?

My notes from when the car was for sale here and on ebay (end of 02, spring of 03) matches the seller's description above. Here's some of my notes: Rick was 2nd owner, found it in Kansas City w/o the 427, installed a 396. Drilled for roll cage, not installed. 9/06 - now has 427. Original axle.
I didn't have any input into the seller's decription, I just posted what he wrote.

Below are quotes from the times it was discussed and listed for sale on this site. The first time it was a Motion car. Next it was a factory supercar. Then it ended up being a Harrell car. It looks to be a very nice car but needs more research.
James

I recently purchased a restorable 69 SS camaro from Mr Rick Lenane.Rick is the second owner of the car.Rick informed me the car was a baldwin motion.Rick is very knowledgeable about camaros if you look in a 69 camaro reference book his name is listed.
Rick used to be a mechanic on the Fred Gibb,Dick Harrel Race team. How do I go about proving the cars background without paying the $1000 to the former owner of balwin motion. The car is set up to run with factory.reset tach and gauging

The car was purchased from Mr. Rick Lenane if you look in the 1969 camaro reference book by Hooper,His name is on page 232.He was a mechanic on the Fred Gibb,Dick Harrel Drag Team. The motor was rebuilt by him and it is strong. The car is a true SS ,4 speed.Rick told me that the car was a super camaro from the factory but I don"t know how to prove this. The car has weird factory stuff that wasn"t on your normal camaros.Light weight drive shaft ,factory snuppers, traction bars, old stewart warner gauges.NO power steering, has power brakes, factory high rise, holley, headers, dual point ignition,

This car was owned and still title in Rick Lenanes name.If you look in a 1969 camaro reference book by J.Hooper you will find his name on page 232.Rick was a member of the Fred Gibb-Dick Harrell Drag team.Rick traveled and raced with the team until 1971 when harrell was killed in a drag car crash.Rick was a valuable source when the first ZL1 Drag car was restored.I have an signed affadavit from Lenane that the car is a fully prepared Harrell camaro.

I hadn't found all those comments. You can tell from the posts he's not a Camaro guy.

Here's one more that relevant:
"I posted a 1969 SS camaro a few weeks ago in the tech area.I want to thank all the people who responded. The camaro was redone by me .I'm not a camaro enthusiast, just a good body man and all the help trying to find out what I was working on boils down to this.It was not a yenko or a baldwin car ,it came from Dick Harrels speed shop.It was originally shipped to Queen city,Mo. and Redone in Kansas City.I have photo graphs with the owner and Harrel Thats about all the documentatation that I have."

Someone needs to talk with Mr Lenane since he's the one that found the car. I'd be interested to see pics of the car as found.

Where can I find those rare 'factory snuppers'?
