I know a good friend of this bird owner. There were 4 total in the garage. He relocated 2 of them to higher ground and left 2 of them up on car lifts as high as possible. But that didn’t help obviously.

Might not get paid by insurance at all. They could class it as an "Act of God". Lots of insurance does not cover that.....

What are those 2 cars worth? $700K ++?

Wow, painful to see! Likely caused because of the garage doors on both ends.

The Superbird and the Daytona were in a garage on Bonita Beach off Hickory Blvd., about 20 minutes from where I live. They were hit HARD with the storm surge. A friend owns a classic video game store about a 1/2 mile from this and his store was entirely submerged by the surge, and he lost everything. There is so much devastation west of route 41 that it's hard to imagine. Please keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers while we recover from this nightmare.

That sucks. I would have loaded up the dogs and those two winged warriors (and the wife if there was room left) and went to higher ground.

The problem with Florida is that there is no real higher ground. When I was a prosecutor down there around three decades ago, one of our local offices was "in the Highlands" outside of Lakeland. It was called the Highlands because it was the highest elevation point above sea level in the area...like 300 feet or so, above sea level and in the geographic center of the state..

Higher ground here in Athens, GA.

I figure anyone that owns an 8-million-dollar beach front home should have enough money and sense to save a couple of my favorite cars.

All he needed was a '69 Trans Am and he would have had the trifecta.

That being said, by the time they realized they were going to take a direct hit it was probably too late to get the cars moved.

Hate that the guy had the trouble, it terrible what those folks are facing down there.
