Known as, “The Intimidator”, this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro is one stunning street machine. It was designed and built by Clutch Rod and Custom. It was featured on the cover of Super Chevy magazine. It was designed and built by Clutch Rod and Custom. As the VIN number indicates it was built in Norwood, OH as a 1969 Camaro 8cyl 2-door Sport Coupe. As the Norwood Trim Tag indicates its was a SS350 that had a Silver exterior and a black interior. During the restoration modifications were done to ensure the glass was flush-mounted and the drip rails along with door handles disappeared. In addition, the cowl panel was redesigned and all of the bright work was stripped from the car to give it a stealthy appearance. The car was painted custom Gray Pearl Metallic with a custom black and red stripe for visual effect. The paint was recently detailed to a brilliant shine. Some custom exterior features include all new tinted glass, Ring Brothers billet rectangular mirrors, United Pacific LED Halo headlights with turn signals, LED driving lights, modified painted bumpers, billet tail light bezels and sequential tail lights. The car has a killer stance on XMS billet wheels that are 17” on the front and 18” on the rear. The wheels are wrapped with Hankook Ventus tires that were replaced in 2020. The inside of the car received the same type of attention. Walt’s Upholstery brought the design to life with the one-of-a-kind two tone gray interior with hidden red LED lights in the headliner and all seats. Some custom interior features include the gauge cluster, Autometer Phantom white face gauges, Budnik G10 steering wheel, Vintage Air conditioning, billet door sills and door handles, Pro Car bucket seats and Clayton Machine pedals. The custom center console houses the Ring Brothers billet shifter, storage compartment, AC controls, Air Ride controls, power window switches, cell phone adaptor and 12-volt plug. The finishing touch to the interior is the custom sound system, consisting of a Pioneer head unit, Rockford Fosgate amplifiers and Rockford Fosgate speakers mounted in custom speaker panels. The trunk compartment was boxed and upholstered to match the interior. The engine compartment is nicely detailed throughout with many custom features. The hood pivots on Ring Brothers aluminum hinges. The firewall was smoothed and painted body color. The MSD electronic ignition box and Detroit Speed wiper motor are mounted to the firewall. The inner fenders and custom radiator support panel were also painted body color. The car is powered by a Scott Shafiroff Racing Engines Ultra Street Classic 434 V8 with 595HP. This engine was purchased in 2018 and has less than 500 miles since completion. The engine cost with parts and labor alone was almost $ 22,000. The engine is equipped with a new Quick Fuel 950 CFM carburetor, March Performance Style Track XS aluminum air cleaner and custom pulley system. The engine is cooled by a B-Cool aluminum radiator with electric fan. The engine breathes through mid-length headers and a Flowmaster exhaust system with dual tips. The engine is coupled to a Tremec TKO 500 5-speed manual transmission with a Sachs clutch. The power is transferred to the Moser 12-bolt POSI rear end with 3.55 gears. The undercarriage is also nicely detailed throughout with many custom features. The underside was painted with textured paint for durability. It’s equipped with power steering, subframe connectors and a polished stainless fuel tank. The front suspension consists of Ride Tech upper and lower control arms, sway bar and air ride. The rear suspension consists of a Ride Tech 4-link setup with air ride. The braking system consists of an 8” brake booster, Wilwood master cylinder, Wilwood four wheel disc brakes with drilled rotors and red calipers. The Super Chevy magazine, engine receipts and book of restoration photos are included. This vehicle has recently been completely serviced which is documented with an invoice that is included. From the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection.
