NOS Part# ID, Rare single crimp rear brake line, 68 69 GTO Chevelle GS 442 ??
I have 2 early NOS rear brake flex hoses. These are the hard to find lines that have the single crimp on the fitting instead of the 2 crimps from 1980 and on.
There are 2 different part numbers on the hoses, one is 9747244 which comes up as 1968 GTO 442 GS Tempest Lemans Skylark. This one is 14" long. The other hose part number is 9743259 which I can find no information on, change up numbers ?? This hose is identical but 1/2" shorter at 13 1/2" long. Would these hoses also fit 1969 and 1970-72 Chevelle also or was there a difference in the 1968 hose length or the mounting position. All being "A" Bodies. I also found one listing on ebay showing the same hose was used on a 1969 Camaro with the 14" length. Stickers still attached with the green stencils on both hoses. (see pictures). Any help appreciated. Thanks. |

I cannot find my original 69 Chevelle hose at this moment but it has the identical green stamped numbers on it (doesn't mean much as those are bulk hose stampings) but am very interested. A replacement reproduction hose I bought measures 14" but since I cannot find my original I am not positive that the 13 1/2" will fit. It appears to me when test fitting that it would be too short if the rear was at the full hanging position. I would like to consider purchasing the 14" hose depending on price and date of the longer one. Please PM me information if you would.

NOS brake hose
Rick, I can not see a date on the hose or fittings. There are a few markings but nothing that resembles a date. Does your original line have a date stamp. Thanks, George
