1989 Mustang 5.0 LX Convertible, California Car
I had a powerful desire to relive my high school days and purchased this 1989 LX convertible from an ad in Hemmings two years ago. Now I've scratched the itch and it's time to pass it on to someone else who feels nostalgia for these cars. It was a lifelong California car until the third owner (I am fourth) purchased it and drove it back to the Chicago area. It has never seen snow or salt, and based on undercarriage condition it appears to never have been in rain either. Currently shows 64,7xx miles (original)
The Mustang is in excellent survivor condition and is completely stock except for a Hurst shifter. Original air box and exhaust are still on it. I have the top boot and storage bag, all keys, original floor mats, manuals and warranty card, demo cassette tape, etc. I don't believe it has ever been in an accident (Carfax shows none) and all the body panels retain the original VIN tags. I do believe it was repainted at some time from the moldings up, no idea of why this was done. Paint quality is consistent with factory paint jobs of the day. Runs and drives excellent, I try to use it daily during the summer on clear days. New in the 2 years I've had it: -Motor and trans mounts -A/C converted to R134a (blows ice cold) -Belt, water pump, all hoses, radiator, overflow tank, PS pump, TB reconditioned, NOS throttle cable, oil pan Only reason I'm selling it is I have too many toys and am trying to thin the herd. (My 67 Corvette 435 is next) Asking $10,500, which I believe is fair given the scarcity of unmolested Fox bodies, and this is a high option car in nice colors. As clean and original as this one is I can't imagine it will last long before someone snaps it up.

Nice nice FOX Body... I like the LX's so much better than the GT's.

Thanks for all the positive feedback!
Also installed a brand new NAPA Premium grade battery today. It's about as turn-key as a 28 year old car can get. |

I have the Marti Report for this car, and it indicates "One of 254 with these Paint/Trim codes". I'm not a Ford guy, and am not very familiar with the Marti data, therefore not certain if this includes GT's and other trims in the count.

I'd wish you lived closer and I could talk my wife into letting me buy it. I'd love to have it.

Always loved Fox Convertibles, and yours is killer. The convertibles almost look European to me. GLWS.
