When I read posts like this I shudder when I think of the number of these smog pumps and associated attachments that ended up in the garbage in my mechanic days over 40 years ago.

Smog Pump
One of the first things I did with the COPO Chevelle was toss the smog pump and install headers. No one could remotely imagine anyone putting any value on the smog pump. Weh we bought the L78 car in 1997, it had headers. Then the government boys started to pull cars over here in Ontario and checking for missing smog equipment. It had never been legal to remove smog equipment but the law had never been enforced. I bought a smog system and manifolds and had the car put back original looking. When we sold the car to the guy in B. C. it was a good thing because he couldn't register the car in B.C. without the smog system on the car and working.
