Default '65 Mustang Fastback Backyard Dig

This is what happens when you store a car outside in NJ for a few decades.

I'm kind of amazed how high this car has been bid considering it's only a day into the auction process. And, a C-code VIN is just a 2bbl 289, not exactly a hot performance number.

IMO, they are just buying it for the roof (for transplant) plus any usable parts. Manahawkin is also close-ish to the shore in the pine barrens, so salt and sandy soil!

Lemans appears far more useable than that Mustang.

Wow, that is crazy for that rust bomb. The front frame and inner skirts appear far better than I expected, for the condition of the rest of the car. They have that to build back from, but the cost will far exceed the value.
I built a coupe for a customer several years ago that I started with the roof, dash panel and older, repro, quarter skins. Last pic is after the owner had it painted.

The complete underbody floorpans, trunk and frame were toast.

I was there for the extraction of this car. Was sitting in Vineland, NJ at the old Gelsi Mustang World which is being cleaned out and torn down. There was 6 others just like it. This was one of the nicer ones.
