Default 1970 Yenko Nova trans and bellhousing numbers

Hi, I am new to this site, and was wondering if someone could tell me the correct bellhousing and trans case, and tailhousing casting numbers for a 1970 Yenko COPO Nova, with the CTB code engine. The reason i am asking is i am doing some work on a 1970 Yenko COPO Nova for a friend, and i am pretty sure that these items are not correct.

Thanks in Advance, and COOL Site.

Hi Marlin, Yes it is the same silver COPO Nova in the background in Hugger_Sixty_Nine,s Post about the CTB Engine. It has a lot of wrong stuff, and we are trying to get it closer.
MikeA.- Thanks for the numbers, that helps. I was pretty sure about all the numbers except the trans case, i have seen Corvette/Camaro,s with 660 cases in 70, i thought that just LS6 Chevelle,s got the 661 case, until 71 when everything got them. I had a buddy who has passed away , who had a 70L78 Nova and it had the 660 case, but i think it was a early car.

Thanks for the Help!!

660 main cases were used as late as Dec. 1969... 661 main cases were used as early as Sept. 1969. I have examples of each... The beginning of the 1970 model year the engineering drawings were change on the Muncie main case so that a fill plug and drain plug were tapped into ALL muncie main cases, so you can tell early 1970 model 660 cases, because they have drain plugs, M-20's, 21's, 22's... Hope this helps...Crash

Thanks for the info Crash, you have confirmed what i thought.
This car has a M22 with a 661 case. The car still has the protecto plate and the trans date ( on the protecto plate ) is P0E06.
Was the M22 availiable for these cars, or would it most likely have had a M21?

Thanks in Advance.

The M22 was installed in that car by the guy in Florida who completed the resto. All 4speed Yenko Deuces have M21's. The trans date on the POP is very early as Deuces go, but that is because this car was one of the first 15 Deuces built - even though the build date is 06A, and the next 60 Deuces are 05D.

Hi Marlin, Thanks to you and Bill for the info. Thats appreciated.
When was the resto done? I have spent the last 2 days repairing the front subframe crossmember from floor jack? damage, and also CORRECTLY repairing the rotted out #2 subframe mounts. This car is not very correct, it has a 55 chev passenger car bellhousing instead of the 621, wrong starter/dist/alternator/block/waterpump/rad/trans tailhousing/yoke/diff etc., etc.,
I have always said-IF only these cars could talk!!!
The floor is a mess, someone has changed the front and rear floor pans, not very nice, there is a lot of Bondo around the shifter hole.
Did these cars use a add on shifter hump on the floor?, or was the floor just cut out?

Actually i had presumed the trans date was probably OK, Yenko site user hugger 69 ( he posted my CTB Engine pictures) camaro has the same engine and trans stamp date and is also a 06A car , although it is a 69 camaro Z28.

Any input about this car or information regarding Deuces would be appreciated, as i am trying to get it a lot closer for a friend.

Thanks in Advance.
Mike.

The resto on that car was done more for driving pleasure than correctness, and according to the restorer he had a lot of fun with the local 5.0 crowd.

The engine is your standard CTB, so all of the part numbers will be the same. No hump for the shifter, just a hole punched in the center of the tunnel. The floor pans may have been changed before the guy in Florida bought the car.
