The Triumph TR6 is a sports car that was built by the Triumph Motor Company of Coventry, England. While production began several months earlier, the TR6 was officially introduced in January as a 1969 model year vehicle. The last TR6 was produced on the 20th of July 1976. Of the 91,850 TR6’s produced, 83,480 were exported to the United States. As the Commission Number Plate indicates this example was built in October of 1970. It originally had a Sienna Brown exterior and a New Tan interior. During the restoration the decision was made to re-finish it in the more desirable color combination of a Jasmine Yellow exterior and Black interior. This factory correct Jasmine Yellow color was available from 1969-1972. This vehicle was acquired from its last owner by MS CLASSIC CARS in late 2020. It was completed in service in August of 2022 by MS CLASSIC CARS and is ready for the new owner to enjoy. The exterior of this TR6 is in beautiful condition throughout. The body is straight with very good panel fitment. The hood, doors and trunk lid close nicely. The deep Jasmine Yellow paint was recently detailed to a brilliant shine. It was outfitted with a new black soft top which operates quickly. The front windshield was replaced new. The door glass is original and in very nice condition. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced such as the windshield trim, wipers, dual mirrors, black grill, headlight bezels and headlights, parking light bezels and lenses, front bumper, door handles, luggage rack, rear tail light bezels and lenses, rear bumper and emblems. The car sits on 15” gray steel wheels with black TR6 center caps and Coker Classic 185-15 Redline tires. The interior of this TR6 is also in beautiful condition throughout. It was completely re-upholstered in the factory correct black color which complements the exterior perfectly. The sun visors, dash pad, door panels, console, bucket seats and carpeting are all trimmed in black. The wood veneer dash fascia is so elegant and houses a glove box. The wood Moto-Lita steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline, an ammeter and ancillary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature and oil pressure. Additional amenities include manual crank windows, a heater and an AM/FM stereo. The carpeted trunk compartment is also in beautiful condition and equipped with a full size matching spare. The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many new parts. The entire engine bay was painted Jasmine Yellow which looks amazing. The car is powered by the 2.5L straight 6-cylinder engine that was completely rebuilt and runs excellent. The black engine block was dressed with a polished valve cover and dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. Everything was restored or replaced such as the coil, wires, hoses, alternator, radiator and battery. The engine breathes through the Stanpart ceramic manifold and stainless exhaust system that sounds sweet. The power is sent to the rear wheels through the 4-speed manual transmission which was rebuilt. The rear end differential was re-sealed. The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout with many new parts. The underside of the body was painted Jasmine Yellow and looks amazing. The frame was painted in high gloss black and also looks amazing. The entire rack and pinion steering was gone through and is tight. The entire four-wheel independent suspension system was gone through and many of the parts were powder coated black. It’s equipped with new KYB Excel-G rear gas shocks. The braking system was also gone through and consists of a black power booster, Lucas master cylinder, front discs with red calipers and red rear drums. |

I always thought TR6’s were the musclecar looking version of the British Roadster. GLWS.
