James, thanks for sharing!
Way back in 1981, I met the second owner of this Camaro at Super Chevy at Devonshire Downs in Northridge, Ca in the parking lot before the show opened. He had just bought the car from the original owner from an LA Times ad that had very little info on it (Hey Pete, maybe you could get lucky and find it in the newspaper archives?). He didn't have the $$ to get in...and since I was driving my brothers 1967 RS/SS 396 Camaro...I took the window sign with the info-out into the parking lot...and with some smooth talking, I got his Camaro into the show. Also the fourth(?) owner of this Camaro was one of the Pavilions regulars...Fred Koenig! BTW-I talked to Doug Marion about this Camaro...and they went and talked with him. In the magazine coverage of the Car Craft SMN coverage from this event, they also mentioned about the cross ram manifold my step brother was selling-along with some of the blueprints from Chevrolet (My step brother bought them from a neighbor of my dads who was a Chevrolet executive). Here's my brothers Camaro in the background at this show-and in the second pic...the crossram was on the ground on the right side fender area. Wish I could find the magazine that had the coverage! :

Another shot looking the other way...crossram is on the ground, you can see the two guys looking down at it (in the Colorado T shirt behind the guy with the yellow white and blue hat)...LOL (Though you cannot see the crossram!)

I just came across this car on BAT. The seller claims it has 90% original paint - door and quarter were touched up. There is unfortunately a large area of discoloration on the hood - too bad. Still, an exceptional car. If it were a stick car, my checkbook might be in danger and my 69 and 67 Camaros might be going up for sale.

This car was for sale a few months ago in California, Hemmings with 10 or 15 other First Gen Camaros....as a lot....
I believe the asking price was 28K-35K? Jeff G. |

I would think that a car as loaded and original as this one would sell for a LOT more than $35K.
