Default SCR18

We are pleased to announce that on the weekend of August 22, 2015, the Annual Super Car Reunion (SCR18), will be held in beautiful Bowling Green, KY, This truly unique event features Chevrolet dealer built Supercars and COPO cars.

Thursday will be the usual “meet and greet” at the host hotel, the Holiday Inn.

On Friday, our day will begin at the historic Beech Bend Raceway Park ¼ mile drag strip, which we have leased for the day. Once we are done at Beech Bend, we will go to the National Corvette Museum, where we will move the Supercars into their exhibition hall. Later on Friday evening will be a banquet, also at the museum. Following the banquet, attendees will be able to spend time visiting with friends while viewing the cars.

Saturday, the Supercars will be on display at the museum, which will be open to the public.

Not only will SCR18 be an exciting weekend for Supercar fanatics, but also for their families, as Bowling Green has several attractions, shopping, etc. The host hotel features on-site American restaurant (where kids 12 and under eat free), a lounge, an indoor pool and fitness center. Beech Bend Raceway Park features include not only a NHRA sanctioned drag strip, but also an amusement/water Park and campground. Of course the National Corvette Museum is a must see. To make things more affordable for attendees, we have made arrangements with both Beech Bend and the Museum for discount tickets.

This is awesome news! Great facility + lots of family stuff to do and see, perfect dates and back to the "old" format.

Let's get back to the roots of the "old" SCR events and make this one something to remember. Hats off to those who are making it happen.

And with any luck, there will also be some Go-karts nearby!

That sounds like a great time and a much-needed shot-in-the-arm with the new venue! Tread lightly in that museum and don't go stomping around too hard . . .

Will SCR18 once again have a section for member muscle cars but which are not super cars or dealer conversion cars?

For those who have never been to Bowling Green, the Corvette Plant is directly across the highway from the Museum and they offer daily tours of the facility. We were in BG last June for the Hot Rod Reunion and went thru the plant one morning while we were waiting for the track to dry from some heavy rain the previous evening. It's well worth your time to see how these cars come together.
Plus, ...... they're now building the engines in BG in an upgraded area of the plant and you can watch the process during the tour.
They're also completing a new Test Track just behind the Assembly Plant which will be available to certain groups in the near future.
Even if you're not a big Corvette fan, ..... it's still a "Car Thing!"
