Auction is real. Cars are here in my little town in a warehouse. Being talked about all over the internet so I'm guessing there won't be much in the way of steals. A few years ago there was a tiny online auction here with a Iso Grifo I thought I was going to steal and it ended up selling for 375K.

Unreal, Documented 69 Camaro COPO car. 2 AAR Cudas that appear real and several Superbird and Daytona cars. They werent really stuck on one brand of car either. I guess if I was spending other peoples money I would buy several of each brand also.

Apple Towing does auctions here in Houston too. They just had another one yesterday. I have gone to several and bought cars and tools. Most all of them are local city or county seizures and some are US Marshall seizures. The main ones I hit are the US Marshall auctions. Lots of great stuff from drug seizures. Sometimes the Marshall's that were involved in the seizures are there and are real fun to talk to.

New to this auction. Am I understanding it correctly that you have to pay $1000.00 up front deposit and that it is forfeited if the winning bidder (even if its not you?) reneges?

"All pre-bid deposits will be refunded within 7-10 business days, unless the high bidder defaults payment for a winning bid. If full payment is not received for items successfully won at auction by Wednesday, 10/30/2019 5PM ET, the $1,000 deposit becomes non-refundable at which point the property shall revert back to the government."

I think all they're saying is that if you are runner up and the one in front of you reneges, you become the high bidder and your deposit stands as partial payment. I'm not a lawyer though lol

Scammers car collection of 150 vehicles to be auctioned off in the next 2 weeks

DC Solar was a start up mobile solar power generators that raised $800 million in capital from the likes of Berkshire Hathaway, Sherwin-Williams, and Progressive.

Unfortunately its owners, the Carpoffs, used the purported energy startup's money to live a lavish lifestyle, collecting cars, sponsoring NASCAR teams like Chip Ganassi Racing, and even buying a baseball team, with the startup funds.

Law enforcement identified DC Solar as a possible Ponzi scheme and raided the Carpoffs' home, confiscating $1.8 million in cash, and 149 vehicles.

3 Superbirds, 1 Daytona, 1 Demon, 8 Road Runners, a Burt Reynolds owned Firebird TA, 1 Viper, 7 Mustangs, a dozen Camaros, 4 Hummers from the early 90s, 4 Chevelles (66, 66, 68, 70), a '59 Chris Craft, 2 1970 Challengers, 1 1971 Challenger, what looks like a 68 Hurst Super Stock Dart, what appear to be 4 Eleanor Mustangs, 2 'AAR Cudas, 440 Shaker hood 1970 Barracuda, a '60 and a 61 Beetle, a Hellcat Challenger

No. It means if the winner (high bidder) does not pay in full on time their deposit is forfeited.

Glad these people got caught. Fine with me if they never get out of prison.

So, Charley, how many PM's have you receive asking if you will get car X Y or Z running "if I am high bidder"?

Looks like a lot of them have keys but do not start. Probably have sat since the raid without battery tenders or being started. If you are on site, it would be easy enough to remedy, but what about internet bidders? Who (other than Charley) is going to get the car running for them?

I like the Fiats. Yes, grossly underpowered, but still something about those tiny cars appeals to me. Also like the hemi powered 67 Dart (lot 167). I don't even care if it was originally a hemi car. It would be a blast.
