1971 V code Cuda @ Mecum
In case anyone here plans to bid on this car themselves, or knows someone who plans to, this car is made up of pieces from about 20 'Cudas. I grew up 15 minutes from where this thing was rotting into the ground and know the car very, very well. It was always a dream of mine to own it but that's not gonna happen. It was uniquely optioned as a real Shaker car, white interior and 6bbl. 4-speed. "Using mostly NOS parts" is a real stretch, lotsa reproduction stuff used.
It is well-restored, I am friends with the original restorer (completed 2007) and he is incredibly knowledgeable about 'Cudas and Challengers. He restored it to the broadcast sheet which meant NO BILLBOARDS, NO RALLYE WHEELS, NO ELASTOMERIC BODY COLOR BUMPERS - the car did not come from the factory with those gingerbread options. Trans and Dana are original to the car. Interesting aside - two friends walked into the same dealership one day in late 1970 and ordered two '71 6bbl Cudas in Sassy Grass Green, both Shaker cars. One with black interior and one white (this one). One with black vinyl top, the other without. One car ended up in a major accident and parted out. This one was left to rot by the ocean in Newfoundland, Canada. Its picture was all over the internet when it was featured on Cars In Barns website in the 90s - a pic I included below. https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0519-37...plymouth-cuda/
