Default Ed Hecht, Holley Carbs

It turns out that Ed's son Jack sells me my boxes at work. We have been talking about his dad and all the times Jack remembers going around the country with his dad. He shared a bunch of stories and has been digging up old stuff from his moms house, she is 90 and still alive. The picture of the Superbird is when Ed bought it used. I believe the story is they needed a family car and this is what Ed bought. LOL. Here are some pictures that he shared with me.

I'm pretty sure they're Firestone 500s.

I don't think so. The ill-fated Firestone 500 radial had a single white stripe on the sidewall on the white wall version. The tires on the Superbird have two stripes.

They are indeed Firestones and they're not radials.

Very cool. What year were they available? At least they are not the official “Firestone 500” radial. So they shouldn’t explode any time soon.
