I would suggest you start by documenting everything you do with the car from tear down to rebuild including pictures of all original parts, parts restoration, panel markings and any crayon marks available anywhere on the car. Keep in touch with Marlin and document everything you learn from him and others on the unique nuances of the Yenko Deuce.

Start with a call to George Zappora at Vintage Services to check the VIN and see if the car was sold through a Canadian dealer by chance? If it was then there will be a paper trail and build details available. If not then contact NCRS to find the dealer code which was probably Yenko in your case and get that document for the car showing its original origin and dealer.

If you want to pay Jerry McNeish to go through your car you can likely commission him to come up to Ontario to document your car and issue a certificate of originality as to what it is, what has been retained and grade it's overall condition. Might be best to do that twice while restoring it so he can see it before, and after completion which will grade it's originality and well as the level of restoration when complete. Once the car is verified/certified as a true Yenko Deuce I am sure it can be added to the registry if not already there? You can also contact Ed Cuneen to enquire about certifying a Yenko through email at: [email protected] I would lean towards Ed and Marlin myself as they are 2 of the best in my view.

Marlin is one of the best people in the hobby to converse and learn from when it comes to these cars, so take what he can share with you and take lots of notes. You're on the right trail by the sounds of it.

car maintains its original hood tach/ yenko sport mirrors/ "Y" yenko wheels/ square traction action bars/ T3 head lights/ LT1 dual snorkel air cleaner/ LT1 valve covers/ intake, heads, alternator, fan shroud & carb, all sall bolt on engine parts... etc/ sway bars/ complete interior in excellent condition/ yenko GSX comfort steering wheel/ original hurst shifter/ all light lenses, chrome bezels, bumpers, trim etc are very good to excellent condition/ all original body panels and floor pans with no patches. all the cars wiring harnesses are in excellent un-butchered condition, just needing a good careful cleaning. car also maintains its orignal yenko crest badging and metal thorstad trunk dealer emblem
the car is UN-RESTORED condition and 95% correct part numbers born to the car

as per a discussion with marlin......we are not going to restore the car and leave it in its original condition...just removing and carefully cleaning all parts....then reinstalling them

as mentioned there are a few parts im looking for to make the car 100%.....like starter, water pump, some hoses, and radiator...but the list is very minimal
i have pulled the engine and trans to "freshen' with new bearings/ seals/ gaskets etc but will be leaving all parts original paint and patina where possible

cars key set is original and is on a yenko orig leather key fob with a blue "number #1" fob with salesman mike morgans name on it

i have asked marlin in assisting me with the authenticity certification doc for the car
marlin is going to be sending me a copy of his books to assist me with my car

i love the car hobby. bougth my first 1969 nova 396/ 375 H when i was 14 years old from a farmer down the road. the car had been sitting there for 12 years. did a LOT of hay bailing & shovelling sh$#@* to get that car from him. we as a family drag race numerous of our cars in ONDR and nostalgic gasser classes. my wife and 2 daughters also drag race and wrench on their own cars. my wifes main drag car is a 1970 582 ci bbc powerglide 4:56 geared nova best run 7.8 @ 187 mph (ive attached a pic of it also for those interested

this is the car i was asking you to help find the radiator for

when i bought the car robert kampon had put early 1970's centrelines on it (which i still have), and put these "Y" rims in storage. was lucky they were still with the car when i bought it!

robert sent me pics of the car when he first got it and a few years later with the other wheels

i am going to listen to marlin on the clean-up restoration. i have numerous other classic cars ive done complete rotisserie restorations on.....and it is very very very hard to restrain and NOT strip/ re-paint every part..........
and to just remove , clean gently and re-install back on the car

it is very easy for guys like you and me to "get carried away"...LOL

i have another 1970 citrus green 4 spd nova sold at central chev in london ont that im working on. 15000 orig miles
that is the car im going to put the "M/T scavenger" headers you had made in the US on
so i will be calling him in a few weeks to get them going

Love CG in a Deuce. Thanks for background and pix! Be advised quite a few Deuces do NOT show up on NCRS including my old "Roof Deuce".
