Default '69 Chevelle SS396, #s 325hp 4-sp car, Restored in '87, still nice

I love cars that have aged so well...this resto is 32 years old and still looks great. And, you know the vast majority of the parts used were GM....

Ad says solid lifters, but that is definitely not an L78 car. This is actually not a bad buy if you consider that the gold car on BAT sold for almost $29K! I would hate to show this one to the person who bought that car - it is going to need fenders and possibly quarters and new paint, and a less desirable color combo.

Totally agree. I was floored by the price of the BAT car especially since old American stuff tends not to do well in their auctions.

Canada car too w/ L35 M20 right on the TT so definitely not an L78 car.
Being Canada built, the GM Canada Vintage Services Paperwork is available regardless of wherever it was shipped to new also you'd think would be noted in the auction if they had it?

It sure would have been nice if Chevrolet had done that with all their cars produced in the USA. Particularly with 68 model year, if you don't have documentation or the original powertrain, it is nearly impossible to prove what engine they were equipped with.

As I understand Pete it does not matter where the car was built, as long as it was delivered to a Canadian dealer. So if the car was shipped to the US there may be no paperwork from GM Historical ? Correct me on this if I am wrong.

The Built in Canada trim tag is a bonus. Let's hope the fake TT people aren't already on this !

If it was built in Canada,or crossed the Canadian/USA border,VVS has a record of it.

Rick's right and Canada built or crossing the Canada/US Border on route to any dealer a good way to think about it.
VVS does have the records for US built/sold cars but only '77 & up...better than it sounds w/ F-Body cars also a few others.
Pretty sure they have info on Partial/Total Knock Down cars Canada shipped to S. Africa and other offshore destinations too?
Good point on the TT's Bill but thankfully the VVS reports would be the final word and reveal the truth.

I've been worried about what's happening w/ VVS after GM Oshawa shuts down, anyone know?
Hopefully GM continues on w/ VVS forever but anyone who needs reports for their cars or Vins they're searching info on may be best get it done sooner than later.
