Three weeks ago, I covered the cars and Harley, winterized the house and shop, jumped in the Explorer van and headed down here to our 34 acre place in Florida. I hope to never see another snow-flake as long as I live. Weather down here has been great. Having some cattle delivered today. Got all the brush-hogging and mowing done. Going to be another great Winter down here!

----As of yesterday all the cars and boats are put safely away. Still need to winterize 2 of the boats, but they are in a heated building and will be done by this weekend. Now time to rake and burn, which I truly hate. I'd almost rather have a root canal!.....Bill S

I hate racking and burning too. Bought a vacuum/shredder 10 years ago. We have acreage and dump the shredded leaves out back for compost. I have the Premier 240 size, works great.

How often does it get plugged up? I’ve considered these before but my experience w different models brought lots of frustration as they always plugged at the chute

Until last week...never. Last week we had near constant rain in some amount for 3 days and ALL the leaves came down in that time period. We were predicted to have freezing temps overnight and only mid thirties for the next 3 days after that, so I vacuumed the leaves wet, before they froze down. I had water running out of the tube, shredder impeller and the discharge screen on the trailer. I can't blame the vacuum for what I subjected it too and it still did far better than I had hoped. It has a 6 hp engine spinning a heavy, fabricated, shredder and it pulls a LOT of vacuum thru the 8" tube. No complaints from me on it's performance for 10 years.

Plenty of room, but the owner (me) doesn't take too kindly to neighbors, so there is that!

I'm about 20 miles West of Ocala, small town called Dunnellon.

I know exactly where Dunnellon is. I almost bought a winter home on 5 acres there 4 years ago. Then we decided to move up here and put an end to the winter home thing...
We have a VRBO rental in Homosassa for 3 weeks in Feb. I plan on going to The Garlits Museum one day during that time. Been 15 years, or so, since I was there last.
