I've not seen a Richmond install in quite a while - they are all Tremec installs these days.

Pete, a friend of mine has a '70 Nova with an LS-6 454 on it's correct BBC frame mounts and a Richmond/Doug Nash 5-Speed and it fits without any floor pan modifications besides the shifter hole in the floor. Those Richmond 5-Speeds look very big and bulky but it's the lower "belly" of the trans where the extra mass is located. On a side note, I paid about $2300 for one of those transmissions and accompanying Hurst Shifter and after lusting after one of those things almost my whole life, I was extremely disappointed in shift quality and learned that I wasn't the only one and it's a common problem with them. That's the reason why they re-designed them a few years ago and the new style Richmond "Super Street" 5-Speeds are about $3500.
