Default '58 Corvette, 270hp 2x4, Panama Yellow

Cool car with the right engine option and a rare color....

Not sure what the seller's claim means: "believed to be numbers matching" - but it's a sharp car nonetheless.

Here how "Corvette Stupid" I am. I never knew GM made a tach with a rev counter, similar to the odometer in a speedo.

What is the math? Can't just be 1:1. Just one hour at 3000 rpm would get you to 18k.

Guessing it is 1:1000. Is that correct?

If so, this engine would have spun around 69,935,000 times, or 874 hours cruising at 3000 rpm.

Gm didn’t start stamping engine blocks until 1960 with the vin….. so all you have is a date code to be correct or not so I guess “believed to be” to the best wording to use.
