Steve, Why is it called a Semi Hemi? I thought the BOSS 429 was a hemi head engine competing against Chrysler Hemi engine? I know the Chevy BB Engines were called a semi hemi at the time. Again 429 Boss had a hemi Ford correct? Thanks Rally

If I remember correctly the Boss combustion chambers had a small quench area on both sides.

That picture of the Boss heads is a modern after market head. The OEM head is flat on both sides of the combustion chamber.
