Default 442 W30 ?

I was at my friends auto repair shop in Iowa this week. I saw some sort of gold engine on a shelf in the shop. He told me its for a 442 W30 car which is out back on a boat trailer. A customer of his is restoring it he says. He started 10 years ago and thats how it sits. I was able to get a few pictures for you guys to see. I know diddily squat about 442's. so here ya go....

heres the motor, intake and exhaust manifolds

apparently the "D" means something...it also has a "D" stamped somewhere near the top of the cylinders.

all the parts are originals off the car including the Olds rear, sway bars and factory boxed control arms , still with the GM stickers on them.

Thats all i was able to get...The dual scoop hood and red inner fender wells are in the attic of the shop. Or so i was told.

For '68 and '69, the W-30 and the Hurst/Olds had 'D' heads. The red inner fenders and the underbumper scoops would lend itself to being a W-30. The VIN shows that it is a Lansing built car. All of these things are pointing to the car being correct for a W-30. Some say that the 68-69 400 was a slug in comparison to the 66-67 400, but I would love for someone to prove me wrong!!!
