Love the color. Should be a killer Day2 ride!

Thanks guys. I am getting excited! We’ll just need to be very careful with it after it’s painted. We will then detail the bottoms of the floors and pull the frame, fuel lines, brake lines, etc. It’s definitely going to be bitchin’

The color my painter made is great. In my opinion the metallic is spot on, very fine. The color seems to be much more bold and deep than the original. It’s a little brighter too. He told me he could get it closer to the original color, using the underside of the deck lid as his source, but I really liked this. It’s very close to the original but just a bit “better”. Pretty sure this modern two stage paint is just that much better anyway. Someone already mentioned how much crisper this looked compared to the original. I am happy with the result so far.

How are things coming along with your paint at this point? Looking forward to some additional information and progress of your build.

The build has "stalled" a bit... haha! As you've all read my car is getting painted in a production shop and business has picked up a bit, in addition to one of the two painters went on quarantine for two weeks. He's back as of this past Monday so my painter should be able to get back to my car soon.

My firewall was painted along with the dash and interior. Correct flat paint. Looks amazing! I'll post pics later. I also got my seats done. New springs and foam for the front seats, they now sit really nice.

Jason, SuperNovaSS, sent me a really cool Ellis Brooks Chevrolet emblem... THANKS BUDDY!

Jose, JBTECH (craigslist wizard), found me a nice set of 15x4 Ansen Sprint direct bolt front runners. Best part is they were 10 miles from my house! I also recently acquired a set of 15x8.5s... I have a nice set of ROUND Cragars for this car too. Don't know why I wanted a set of Ansens all of sudden... Guess I don't see them often and figured they'd be cool with slicks and skinnies.

I also bought a set of reproduction L88 spark plug wires.... I think they'll look cooler than the Taylor wires my builder supplied. I'll try to get them on the car this weekend.

Other than that, I've been spending most free time with our new dog, Hank. Last week we brought him to the Colorado River with us. I wanted him acclimated to loud motors since my Father In Law races Grand National Sprint Boats. I'm sure our dog will be at most of the nearby races.

Like I previously mentioned, we've been backed up in the shop but my turn is finally here! The car is sanded, cleaned, and ready for color! I've been getting a few other things here and there done for the car. I got my bumpers back from chrome... amazing. Used Meclec Plating in Fresno, CA. They also did vent windows.

Got my 15x4 Cragar's back from chrome too... Unfortunately the hoops were so shot the wheel shop had to replace them. They look great but the date codes on the hoops are gone

I also wanted some early Ansen Sprints... This is getting bad... I have four sets of rims lying around the garage now. Jose, JBTECH, helped find me some pretty nice 15x4 Ansens which I'll have polished. I found a very nice set of 15x8.5s and 4 NOS early metal center caps...

More pics to come soon!!!
