Default Looking for this 1971 Chevelle with 72 front end

I bought this car in 1992 right before I got my license. I did a full restoration on it in high school and then ended up selling it in 1996 and I have regretted it ever since. I have searched high and low for the VIN and no luck. It was a 1971 Chevelle with a 350/350 on the column. It was hit in the front prior to being sold to me and someone put a 72 front clip on it. The original color is Placer Gold with Beige interior and factory A/C, so the trim tag will show these colors even though I am sure it is still black on black currently. I did it up like you see here. It also would have had holes drilled into the floor for the driveline loop that I put on for drag racing. The car was sold to a friend of mine who did the engine bay up like in the image. One thing I remember is that he painted the intake white. If I remember right he sold it in 96 or 97 to some in Portland OR. Any help would be appreciated.

Might also want to try the Lost Muscle Cars Page on Facebook.

No idea if possible where you are but have you tried running the Plate # by your Motor Vehicles branch in case they still have the Vin on file?
Also, what of your old Insurance provider...may be easier if you're still w/ the same group but always worth trying in case the Vin is still on file?
Best of luck!

I got a suggestion from another member on here about a website called VinAudit.com, it will tell you where it was last registered and what year as well. This could be a good head start since you have the VIN!

Interesting, I just ran the VIN for my Caprice and it couldn't be found. Is there an age limit?

It seems to be hit or miss but I'm not aware of any age limits. It tracked a '70 AAR Cuda my dad used to own 40 years ago but couldn't find my currently registered '74 Camaro.

I missed twice now! I just ran the VIN for my 74 Z (I've owned since 1980) and it couldn't find it either. The system was giving me a hard time sine the 2nd character is a Q. It finally went in, but no luck.

I received an anonymous email saying that this Chevelle is owned by a guy named Charles W. in Livingston County KY. Anyone know this person?

You might want to go to your Town Hall and check property tax records for the VIN.

I have been searching for the VIN and tonight I was going though the closet in my office. I kept thinking for some reason it was in my US history notebook from high school. After finally finding the notebook I scrolled through the pages and found the bill of sale I wrote out to the guy I sold it to. So...the VIN is 136371L126694! According to VIN Audit it looks like the car was registered in 10/2010 in Kentucky.
