Default Barrett-Jackson Saturday 1 20 2018

Holly and I went to Barrett-Jackson after we got back into town this morning from SoCal. The drive back from SoCal included rain, Lightning and hail...and that was before we got to Palm Springs! It was actually really nice weather until we hit Wickenburg, then we hit rain again.

As you can see, there was liquid sunshine at Barrett-Jackson today, but it didn't dampen our spirits

We'll start off this group of pics...with a picture of Jamie Jarvis (Livettes on this site). Jamie's really nice Corvette went across the block and sold for $350,000!

Congrats to Jamie

And yet more...and as you can tell, the rain was coming down at this point. People still had smiles on their faces

Holly and I were invited to the Shelby American booth to see the premier of the 50th Anniversary Shelby GT500KR (The Red Shelby convertible in the 3 car shots). Holly and I got to hang out with Scott Black (Timepiece PR, the PR firm for Barrett-Jackson),Tracey Smith (Executive Vice President of licensing and Media Relations for Carroll Shelby International, Aaron Shelby) and Aaron Shelby (grandson of Carroll and in charge of the Shelby Children's Heart Fund)

We had a great time.

First pic is Scott Black and Holly. Scott is the guy who arranged for Holly to meet Carroll Shelby years ago at Barrett-Jackson

Next pic is Jenni Shreeves, who was in charge of the Children's Heart Fund before Aaron Shelby, the following pics are of Scott and Gary Patterson (President of Shelby American) presenting and discussing the 50th Anniversary Shelby GT500KR. The last pics are Tracey Smith, Aaron Shelby, Holly and Scott!

This group has more from the Pre-staging area...and include George Lyons 1968 Shelby GT350 convertible. There's also a picture of Holly and George. Also a picture of a Z16 in the rain...oh the horrors and finally Tommy Lee Austin's rod.

This group from the prestaging area feature two of Andy Distad (QuickBowtie on this site) cars that went through the auction. Andy is a super nice guy...and always has killer cars. The Camaro sounded wicked and I would love to own the GSX

Oh yeah, we found Rick, too!

Finally, Tommy Lee Austin in his rod...staying dry...and a modded Vette!!

Last shots from Barrett-Jackson for Saturday. All in all, there's no better place than Barrett-Jackson for a car guy (or girl) for the sheer number of cars-or the experience and the atmosphere!

Thes shots include The ZR-1 from the Chevrolet booth, the Bronco's from another vendor...and finally Holly spotted Linda Vaughn...so we got a pic!

In a few, some Pavilions pics in another post....
