Thanks guys! I'm trying to hold up the standards that this forum is used to seeing. So, my heater core came back from Bob at Glen Ray radiators, and I installed that into the heater box and added the factory stamping on the front.

The heater box is now ready for installation. I also started in on blasting some small parts and wanted to get jack detailed up. I noticed after blasting, certain areas had heavy runs. This tells me how the part was painted and I'll hang it when I paint it to replicate those runs! I know!!!! This worthless info is so much fun you can't stand it!!!!

I latched the doors, so now the wetsanding and polishing can begin. I had to rearrange the shop a bit, and it's getting close to engine install day!!! Of course, I have to follow my checklist. Pretty easy steps restoring a car. Not really sure why everyone makes a big deal out of this!!!

All the new parts are showing up and I figured I'd better get to wetsanding and polishing before I have a car done and then realize I never did the cut and buff! I did get a few bugs in the top coat, and of course the worse one is staring you right in the face. So I'm going to have to get the dental pick out to remove said bug and then add a few drops of clear on top. Hopefully after the sanding the worst one will be unseen. I'm going for the factory look so I want just a tad bit of peel, but not too much. Fortunately, I'm lazy, so doing it sub-par is right up my alley!

I'm starting with 1500, 1000 in some places where there is excessive peel, and then I'll work my way up to 10,000 grit.

Looks great Dave. There are a lot of parts on GM cars that were dipped and I try to replicate the same by dipping them in a pale of semi gloss black lacquer. They have changed the formula over the years so it does not react like it used to but still looks better than spraying and you also get the solids and solvents to separate around holes and similar areas giving it an opaque run so to speak. Looks perfect for us anal retentive guys.
