This beautiful 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Crossram has been lightly restored and still has the perfect amount of patina. It retains its original color combination of a Rally Green with white stripes exterior and black interior. It also retains its original matching numbers 302 V8 engine and original matching numbers M21 4-speed manual transmission. It was certified as authentic by Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Hi-Performance in March of 2022. Only 7,199 Camaro Z28ís were produced in 1968 making it one of the most collectable models during the production year. This example is an original Norwood built Z28. As the NCRS Shipping Data Report indicates this example has a GM official production date of April 24th, 1968. It had a Rally Green w/ white stripes exterior and a black standard bucket interior. It was ordered with the following options: A01-tinted glass, B93- door edge guards, D55- console, G80-positract rear axle with 4.10 gears, J52-power disc brakes, M21-4-speed transmission, U69-AM-FM radio, Z21-style trim group and Z28-special engine and equipment. The original delivery dealer was Merollis Chevrolet in East Detroit, MI. From the information gathered this car was lighted restored in 2003 by its long term owner. Prior to the restoration it was a very original car with just over 30,000 original miles. During the restoration process it outfitted with a cowl hood for the Crossram setup which also included ceramic long tube headers. The Crossman setup was a dealer installed option that was a popular choice in the era. The paint is high show quality and the interior is in very good original condition. Since completion of the restoration twenty years ago itís been handled with the best care. The car currently has 31,353 original miles. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the car in October of 2022 and this is the first time itís been listed for sale.

The exterior of this beautiful first generation Camaro is one of its highlights. From the information gathered it retains all of its original sheet metal with exception of the cowl hood which was replaced for the Crossram setup. The body is very straight with great panel fitment throughout. The hood, doors and trunk lid close very nicely. The car was only repainted once and that was done during the restoration process. It was refinished in its original factory color of Rally Green with white stripes. Only 4.6% of 1968 Camaro total production was painted Rally Green. The paint work was done to a high level of quality and was recently detailed to a brilliant shine by the team at MS CLASSIC CARS. The paint quality is reflective of a number one condition classic car. The front windshield was replaced new during the restoration. All of the remaining original factory Soft Ray original tinted glass is in good condition with minor signs of age. Itís believed that most of the exterior pieces such as the stainless trim, driverís side mirror, front bumper, door handles, taillight lenses and rear bumper are original with minor signs of age. Itís believed the wiper arms, antenna, fender trim, lower moldings and emblems were replaced new during the restoration. The black front spoiler is from a 1969 model which is slightly different than the 1968 model. The rear spoiler was also added to the car so itís missing the rear trunk Camaro emblem. The car sits on the original DF coded silver wheels with chrome trim rings and center caps. The 1968 Rally wheel caps are large style center cap, also used during 1969 production. The wheels are wrapped with Firestone Super Sports F70-15 tires that look awesome but arenít correct. All 1968 Z28 Camaros were equipped with Goodyear E70 x 15 Raised White Letter Wide Oval Tread GTs.

The black interior of this beautiful first generation Camaro is truly remarkable because itís mostly original. Yes, the interior of this car is 55 years old and shows very nicely with minor signs of age. Matter of fact it still smells like an original interior. The engine was completely rebuilt and runs excellent. It was outfitted with a reproduction Crossram intake set with two Holley #4295 carburetors and chrome air cleaner that matches the factory chrome valve covers. The original intake and #4053 carburetor dated 841 are included with the car. Some of the hoses have GM stamps and it has a Delco battery topper. The engine is cooled by a new reproduction radiator. The engine breathes through a set of ceramic coated long tube headers that connect to the polished stainless steel dual exhaust system that sounds awesome. The engine is coupled to the original matching numbers Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission. The original Muncie speedometer hole is stamped out below the windshield wiper motor on the firewall. The transmission has a #660 case, P8D18 assembly date and partial VIN stamping. The transmission was completely rebuilt and shifts smoothly. ďThis car is an original Norwood built Z28 with factory installed 302-290hp V8 engine, 4-speed transmission and 12-bolt rear axle. Original Z28ís are hard to find in todayís Camaro collector world and the fact that this car has survived the past 54 years without drive train failure makes it rare and desirableĒ.
