This one-of-a-kind 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback Custom is a modern masterpiece that is truly magnificent. The car sports spectacular bodywork and paint. It’s powered by a Ford Performance Gen 2 Coyote 5.0L V8 with Borla 8-stack fuel injection and a T56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission. The car was outfitted with a B Rod and Custom chassis for superior handling. As the Marti Auto Works “Deluxe Mart Report” documents this car was built on May 26th, 1967 at the Metuchen, New Jersey factory as 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback with a 289 V8 engine. The car was acquired in need of a restoration by Dr. Christopher Reynolds who lives in Tampa, Florida. Chris is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force as well as a retired Fire-Rescue Division Chief. Chris sent the car to good friend Steve Hines of Shines Customs located in Dandridge, Tennessee for a complete restoration. The two had worked on cars in the past and Chris had every bit of confidence that his latest adventure would soon become the next automotive masterpiece in his garage. The interesting part is Steve works solo at Shines Customs and dedicates 100% of his expertise to every build. The vision of this project was to take one of the most popular muscle cars of all time and make it truly unique. It is the perfect blend of an original 1967 Shelby GT500 and GT500E “Eleanor”. The restoration started in 2019 and was completed in 2021. Photos of the restoration are included. Since completion it’s been decorated with multiple awards including Corvette Expo “Hot Pick” in 2021, Mustang Club of Tampa “Best of Show Modified” and “Best in Class” in 2021 and Mustang Club of Tampa “Best Paint” in 2022. These awards are not included. The car was featured in three magazines in 2022 that include Cruise News, Street Scene and Mustang Hub. These magazines are all included. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the car from Chris in March of 2023. The car only has 2,182 miles since completion.

The exterior of Mustang is so spectacular it leaves you lost for words to describe it. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced new. During the restoration process almost all the sheet metal was replaced new. Steve has countless hours making the body laser straight. During the bodywork phase it was outfitted with a Shelby style dual scoop hood with push locks, Ring Brothers carbon fiber front apron with scoops, Shelby style molded fiberglass side scoops with custom grills, fabricated metal ground effects and fabricated metal rear deck spoiler. The lower rear ground effect was modified for the exhaust tips. The car was then treated with Randy Apple Red with Hot paint with Chocolate stripes and white pin striping. The paint was supplied by Painthouse Customs located in Cypress, Texas. Painthouse Customs is known for award-winning vehicles and custom paint colors. The color combination dresses this stylish body perfectly. The bodywork and paintwork is second to none. It was recently detailed to a show quality shine by the team at MS CLASSIC CARS. The paint is protected by XPEL Ultimate Plus PPF on the edge of hood, bumper, lower valance, headlight bezels, rockers and behind the wheels. The lower rocker vinyl stripes read GT550SC for 550 horsepower and Shines Customs. Some of exterior custom features include all new gray tinted glass throughout, satin black with bronze flake painted trim, wiper arms and taillight bezels, Ring Brothers rectangular black anodized mirrors and door handles, fabricated front upper and lower grill with Coyote emblem, painted metal front bumper and rear bumper, United Pacific LED headlights with built in turn signals and daytime running lights, and LED sequential taillights. The car sits on custom made Schott “Vulcan EXL D. Concave 10-spoke wheels with Bronze ceramic finish. The front wheels are 18x8 and the rear wheels are 20x11. The wheels are wrapped with Continental Extreme Contact tires that are 245-40-18 on the front and 285-30-20 on the rear. It’s equipped with a Avital 2100 keyless remote entry system for easy access.

The interior of this Mustang was tastefully designed with both original and modern styling. The interior color combination matches the exterior color combination. Everything in the interior was restored or replaced new. During the restoration the entire interior cabin was insulated with Fatmat Insulation to keep the cabin cool and quiet. Starting from the top it has a black one-piece headliner with lights and aluminum trim, custom panels and powder coated roll bar that were supplied by Mustangs to Fear. The original style black dash is outfitted with the original style brushed aluminum trim. A Coyote emblem was added to the passenger side aluminum trim to match the front grill emblem and carry the theme inside. It’s equipped with Dakota Digital HDX black face gauges, Ididit black tilt steering column and 14” Billet Specialties “Invador” black anodized steering wheel with matching leather wrap. The custom Old Bronze and Pretzel upholstery was done by James Stephen which includes the door panels, bucket seats and rear seats. The brass GT-40 style rivets add the extra touch of class. The custom black full length console is home to the Vintage Air conditioning controls, USB outlets, fog light button, trunk release button, cup holders, 10” aluminum shifter, power window switches, storage compartment and Kenwood DNX576S 6.75” touch screen with has all the modern features including navigation and Apple car play. Some of the other interior custom features include chrome door strikers, Pony door sills, 3-point seat belts, Clayton Machine door handles and window cranks, aluminum clutch and brake pedal, black plush carpeting and floor mats, Kenwood 6.5” speakers in the kicker panels, Kenwood 6x9 speakers in the rear quarter panels and two Kenwood 10” subwoofers in the rear trunk access panel.

The rear seats fold down for additional space. The trunk compartment was designed to match the interior. The trunk lid pivots on Ring Brothers hinges. The trunk space was boxed and carpeted. The paneling conceals the Rockford Fosgate 1400 amplifier and battery.
The custom engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. The backside of the hood, firewall, inner fenders, radiator support were completely fabricated and painted in a Matte Red finish. Steve personalized this build with a bead-rolled Maltese cross under the hood, a tribute to Chris’s long term time with the Fire and Rescue department. The radiator support panel was also bead-rolled to match backside of the hood. The hood is pivots on Ring Brothers hood hinges. The custom hinges, reservoirs and all caps are all matte black. The inner driver’s side fender still has the original Ford VIN stamp. The entire engine bay is extremely neat and organized. The new wiring was hidden for a clean appearance. All of the hoses are high quality and have AN style fittings. The car is powered by a new Ford Performance Gen 2 Coyote 5.0L V8 engine that was outfitted with a Borla 8-stack Semi-Xram fuel injection system with Holley HP system. This system is designed for the Coyote engine and cost for just the Borla system was 9,473.00. It’s equipped with Heidts motor mounts, custom Coyote embossed valve covers and front runner drive system. The valve covers and Borla stacks were painted matte Red to match. The engine runs and sounds excellent. The engine breathes through Stainless Works headers and an H-pipe exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers. The exhaust was wrapped heat tape in sections to keep the floor cool. The engine is cooled by a Griffin aluminum radiator with dual electric SPAL fans. The engine is coupled to the new Tremec T56 magnum 6-speed manual transmission that was sourced from Silver Sport Transmissions. It’s equipped with a Quicktime Bell Housing and hydraulic clutch that is easy to operate. The power is transferred through the Dynotech driveshaft to the new Currie 9” Twin Trac rear end with 31 spline axles and 3.70 gears. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased and installed the new rear end. The car is equipped with power rack and pinion steering and a Billet Specialties remote power steering reservoir.

The undercarriage is very clean throughout with many custom parts. The bottom side was painted with a textured paint for durability. The body was placed on a B Rod and Custom chassis platform which is CAD engineered with a full tube frame. The entire fuel system is new including a stainless fuel tank. The front suspension consists of a 2” dropped spindles, SPC Performance adjustable upper control arm, sway bar and Ride Tech shocks. The rear suspension has an adjustable triangulated 4-bar setup and Ride Tech shocks. It’s equipped with Baer four wheel disc brakes with red 6-piston calipers on the front, red 6-piston calipers on the rear, 14” drilled and slotted rotors. It’s also equipped with an E-Stopp electric emergency brake.
