Default 69 Camaro smog pump finish

Anyone have any success trying to replicate the finish on the housing? If so details please.

I would think it is exactly the same procedure as an alternator case. They are both cast aluminum

I cleaned up my Nova pump with a grey (fine) scotch brite pad and lacquer thinner. Then went over it with 0000 steel wool.

If I could ask, how did you get the front bearing out without trashing the case, and how are you going to retain the new front bearing ?

I just press out the shaft with the bearing and then used green loctite sleeve retainer on the bore and new bearing.
