Default 69 Z/28 "Ex Racer" Race Engine

This car was raced off and on and hasn't been on the street since around 1971, and was finally retired in 1986. I'm converting it back to a street car and have several parts I want to sell off of it, starting with the engine. It was professionally built and blueprinted in 1977. When the guy parked it in 86 he did it right by draining the block and carb, putting fresh oil in, and backing off the rocker arm nuts. I've got it up and running and it runs good. I have no idea what it's worth, but there are a lot of good parts here. Ported angle plug heads, solid roller cam and rev kit, Victor intake with 850DP Holley, Harland Sharp? roller rockers, Brooks alum rods, 12:1 CR, Moroso deep pan, etc. I took out the solid roller and got it up and running with a Z28 street cam. Looking for $2000 OBO.

I have all of the build/blueprint specs from 1977:

I have a couple of videos of it running, here's one: https://youtu.be/t85bTECj8co

More parts coming as I get pictures taken!

Be nice to know when it was last apart as the aluminum rods will surely need to be addressed if in there from 77 - 86. The heads being done by Ron's Porting are sure to be nicely prepped as he is one of the best in the business.

Are there any numbers stamped on the front pad below the deck?

If you're referring to any pad stampings, that has been decked. The only other thing I see stamped is a little "2" right in front of the pad.

The old cam card (the old logos are neat):

Sounds like a gift to me. I ran a very similar combo back in the ‘80s. Mine had pink rods and heavily worked 461 heads; ran 10.30s at a buck 136 in a ‘68 Camaro that weighed 2860 with me in it. Ran the same bottom end for 7 seasons without touching it (couldn’t afford to). I was still running a magneto and footbraking! TH400 and 5.57s.
Leaked it every season and it was good. I’d say with a little TLC that engine could be a nice little combo in a light car. Just curious, why did you remove the roller?

I only took it out because I was trying to evaluate how well the engine ran after 30 years of being parked, and I thought it would be easier to do with something a little less lumpy.

It's all included with it if a guy wanted to put it back in.

I honestly wish you were closer. I'd use this in something for sure.

Here's another video of driving the car with the engine. This was before I got the carbs dialed in, but gives a pretty decent idea of how the engine runs.

What a fun engine project to have on the stand in the garage, waiting for something to drop it in!
Love the Gold Moroso V-Covers too. I'd be tempted to scoop this up if it was on west coast!
