Ditto on that. It's like they've been popping up everywhere lately, Facebook, eBay, here and there. I think there's like 7 for sale right now. Prices have been dropping too.

OK all this 1100837 talk has me sweating. I have an engine assembly date of march 18 1970 What alternator date should I be looking for ? Apparently I may also need a second job first.

The Alternator on the engine is unstamped. I assumed since the deep groove pulley is missing that it was not the original. Is it possible the unstamped alternator is the original and had the pulley changed? Is there another way to verify the alternator date? Or am I better off locating a stamped original ?
Thanks for the input guys.

Internally mine had a "70" cast in below the front bearing with a 12 segment starburst and 3 dots in the starburst. Assume this is 1970 with the dots indicating the week and the position of the dots in the seconds month spot?? that verifies at least the date, but not that its an '837. You MAY be able to with the fan and pulley removed see this with a endoscope type camera.

Looking at this a bit further, since this is a casting date this one may indicate the first month (January) in the segment area with the 3 dots the third week. This should of course pre-date the stamping, but by how much is anyone's guess just like most of these things without many more data points.
