Default 1969 Pacecar , A few production Questions

Hi every 1 ,,
My favorite car of all time has always been the 69 pacecar,
I do have a few ???? for you and hope you can help.

1- How many pacecars were built - all engines w/breakdowns -4 sd and auto ???
2- Did they all have the orange interior
3- Did any of them come eqipped with with the pacecar decals on the sides( or was this an option )and if it was , did it appear on the build sheet / window sticker .
4- Is there a known breakdown on how many were shipped to the U.S and Canada and overseas.

Is there a registry for the pacecars that most any 1 can go and view.???

I think thats enough for now , hope you can help . Thanks

Pacecar

Thanks Lynn , went to the site , Some what confusing to look at , I think I did not learn a whole lot more than what I knew already. Maybe some pacecar owners can help me learn more about these models..
I did not know that chev did not keep alot of production number info ??? Found this a little weird.

Thanks again Lynn . pacecar

1- 3675 were made, no breakdown on engines and transmissions is available. Rough guess is that there are around 1000 big blocks and 2700 small blocks.

2- Yes they all had orange houndstooth interiors.

3- None of them (except the two real ones)left the factory with the decals they were shipped in the trunk and the dealer installed them if the buyer wanted them.

4- Never seen any GM of Canada info for a pacecar yet. doesn't mean none were bought in Canada just that I haven't seen the paperwork. None were shipped overseas by GM. Who knows if any private buyers did. Alledgedly Mario Andretti's car that he got for winning the race was shipped to Australia around 1975. I know of at least 2 that are in Australia right now.

In 1993, the United States Camaro Club released the following production figures they had for the 1969 Pace Car's:Production;;3,675, L 35, 325 hp. 120 made,...L 34, 350 hp. 36 made,...L 78, 375 hp. 87 made , ... L 89, ....6 made....It would be interesting to find out what the new registery figures are 12 years later...Please post them when you find out, I would sure like to know...thanks

Ok, so that will support my summation of 200-300 made with the 396 , then you have to break it down by transmission! So, Mark C., where do you get your 1000 # from???

Did you forget the previous discussion you were involved in. No one knows for sure, but several posters in the previous thread made educated observations. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/show...6/fpart/1/vc/1

Well, Yes I do recall this. If its such a secret on Kurt's #s then why guess based on what he has listed and doc'd. I mean no disrespect to you Kurt but you must have some actual #s on your lists of what is current today. Some of us may not have our cars on a list anywhere, alike myself, so I am what: .05% of that realistic figure of of 2-300. Maybe there IS more. The Yenko site I am sure was intended for the purposes of the COPO/Yenko etc cars not to leave out the ZL1s. I suppose our hobby needs to get together and complete the task of what that USCC did to start the ball rolling on getting better figures and #s supported to all who desire this! I would offer to start a site for it; It's a matter of the time it takes to download all that info, and then as received, are we actually able to rightfully say what VIN #s received are actual, true, and not forged....Thoughts people?
