Default Super Chevy Show

I notice that there are several super chevy shows coming up. My interest is in the car show portion of the event. Reading their info on the car show on the site I am having a hard time understanding if this is something I would be interested in.

I enjoy showing at a judged meet where I can learn more about my cars and earn a meaningful award if the car warrants it. I prefer to show at an event where there is an objective standard and your car is judged against that standard. I was interested if anyone has shown at Super Chevy and what their experience was. What kind of award can one earn?

Thanks

Dave,
It has been a few years, but I did the Super Chevy shows for about 5 or 6 years. Good competitive cars and what seemed like competent judging (early on). In my last year or so, they cut back on number of judges to where one judge might be responsible for maybe 3 classes, each of which might have 40 to 50 cars. In the early years, they spent an adequate amount of time to evaluate each car...later they might spend 2 minutes on a car.

If you are going, you need to be aware of their rules as your car is placed in one of three catagories: Stock, Street or Modified. Here is the link to their rules page.

If you have additional questions, drop me a PM. and I can go into more detail if needed.

Based on the lineup of cars in your profile I wouldn't put much weight on judging from a Super Chevy event.

Super Chevy has been known as "STUPID CHEVY" as far as I'm concerned.... I won a plaque there with my Nova back in 2001 but got hassled on little things they thought were not original to the car which bumped me into a street class from stock... I don't know if I would waste your time going to this event with your car especially if it is bone stock.. Seems they like modified stuff there more...

Jeff, I had a friend return to me a binder of all 12 Super Chevy from 1986 yesterday. I have since disposed of all the other years. Are you in there?
