Looking to purchase an original 68 Camaro jack assembly. Restored or non-restored makes no difference. Something in the 8A-D date code.

I had an original in my hands yesterday when buying something else at a guy's place here in Austin.

I'll call him tomorrow and see if he can spot the date code on it. I'll get back to you then.

California built Camaros & Norwood Camaros have different jacks according to a study by CRG in case you're trying to get real original

Don't know if the OP has found anything or not but I picked up the jack assembly yesterday that I mentioned. It came from a '68 Camaro the guy bought in 1969 and pretty much immediately turned into a drag car. Accordingly, the jack stuff was removed from the car and went with him as he moved residences, built a shop, etc over the years. More recently he had somewhat beadblasted it and sprayed the jack base, ratcheting mechanism and hook with a cheap grey spray can primer. Tire tool was sprayed with some gloss black paint or maybe that finish is original...I don't know.

Anyway, I beadblasted and cleaned the grey spray-canned parts today and shot them with a high quality catalyzed epoxy primer. I've left the jack shaft (trapezoidal) "as is" ---it still appears to have original plating on it although some of the shaft has deterioration on the plating (not pitted, etc).

No date codes stamped on anything...nothing on any of the ratcheting mechanism rivets nor on the jack shaft.

Here are some pics of the base, hook and ratcheting mechanism after beadblasting/prior to epoxy primer.

I'll leave it at that for now.....I can post pics of the shaft, tire tool and the epoxy primed parts if this goes any further. Overall, the pieces were in super nice condition...not pitted or rusty, etc. I realize there are other styles of jacks used and a date code would be nice but this setup "is what it is" and it's not repro stuff.

More pics - detail pics of the jack shaft, the tire tool and the other parts after grey epoxy primer. Shaft is in VERY nice condition...has some discoloring on various parts of the cad plating but it is not pitted, rusty, etc.
