that is a 59 or 60 Chevy wagon (probably a 60) and was taken in 63 according to the post

That was a normal "safe" situation back then as seat belts were still not widely used

That seat would fetch a lot today

Note that the passenger door IS locked, they must have been "safety" minded ...

My parents have pictures of me in my old car seat back in the 70's and it looked similar to that. It was more so that I could see out of the window than to really protect. Most kids back then were brought home from the hospital on their mothers lap also. It's amazing how it has all evolved.
